Educational & Community
Theater Project

What is it?

The Educational and Community Theater project has been planned for phase 3 of Redding School of the Arts Master Plan. It will be a part of the new Redding School of the Arts High School Campus and available to the community as a cost effective solution for local children’s productions and education.

It will be a space where children and families benefit.

The community theater will have adjustable seating to accommodate large or small performances and backstage infrastructure that will ensure children's safety while learning aspects of stage production.

Why is a Children’s
Educational Theater
important?

Child-centered performing arts programs are growing in the North State, and the area is in need of a venue that will support student performing arts in our community.

Existing school performance facilities can not accommodate the demand for performance reservations and are also expensive to reserve for educational programs or small, independent, performing arts businesses such as local dance studios.

Private and civic theaters are inappropriate due to cost, facility size and structure.

The educational and community theater development that the Foundation is supporting will be cost effective, affordable, and accessible, making it a desirable option for local children’s productions for educational and cultural enrichment.
